'FLOWERS OF FIRE' IN PIEDMONT: THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF FIREWORKS |
This year is the Thirteenth Edition. This is a real championship, which feature the 'Flower of Fire', the fireworks the most beautiful in the world: the race consists of 5 nights all set in beautiful scenery of lakes, spectacular shows that attract 300/350 thousands people per night. Then there's the closing night with the awards and a great show organized by all participants. The evenings this year are held in Stresa, Omegna, Arona, Verbania and Mergozzo (Vco), but there was also an opening night at the Toce waterfalls in the Formazza valley and the location of closing night is Omegna, on the lake Orta.
Seven Shows to remember
At this edition they have decided to join the national teams of Ukraine, Taiwan, Mexico, Germany and Switzerland. The jury chooses the winner according to creativity, virtuosity, the showmanship and technical ability. The dates and teams: August 6 on the rock of Angera, Arona, it was the turn of Taiwan, at the Aug. 14th in Santa Maria Maggiore (Vigezzo Valley) there are the fireworks of Mexico, August 15 at Laveno Mombello on Lake Maggiore, is the turn of the Germans, August 19 at Cannobio (Verbania) performs the Ukraine, and then the race will close after one week, August 21, at Omegna, with the participation of Switzerland. In Omegna at August 30 there is also the winner proclamation, the last show and the closing gala.
